Newton Fund award for Brazilian workshop
Our group was awarded a British Council Newton Fund award in collaboration with Dr. James Cronin and Prof. Martin Sheldon to organise a workshop on microbiology and genomics in Brazil later this year. Congratulations to all involved.

Postgraduate Research presentation award to Leonardos Mageiros
Congratulations to Leonardos Mageiros, currently PhD student in our laboratory, who won the Swansea University Postgraduate Student Research Presentation Award 2014 during the local annual postgraduate conference at Swansea held on 19-23rd May 2014.
MRC award to Swansea University and collaborators
The Medical Research Council has awarded a £8.5 million award to the MRC Consortium for Medical Microbial Bioinformatics project led by Sam Sheppard and Mark Pallen (Warwick University) and collaborating partners in Cardiff University, Public Health Wales and University of Birmingham.
