The Medical Research Council has awarded a £8.5 million award to the MRC Consortium for Medical Microbial Bioinformatics project led by Sam Sheppard and Mark Pallen (Warwick University) and collaborating partners in Cardiff University, Public Health Wales and University of Birmingham.

Our laboratory attended the Microbiology & Infection Translational Research Group (MITReG) Annual Symposium for Translational Infection Research in Wales, which was held in the Liberty Stadium of Swansea on the 11th December 2013. From our group, Thomas Wilkinson, Jane Mikhail and Ben Pascoe gave talks and Angharad Davies, Llinos Harris and Guillaume Méric presented posters. Guest speakers included Prof. Tom J. Humphrey (University of Liverpool) and Prof. Ross Fitzgerald (Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh).
